Dean Vanech

DEAN VANECH is a founding partner of Podo Legal, an independent litigation and discovery services boutique. Dean has more than 20 years of litigation experience in diverse roles at in-house legal departments, top-tier law firms and legal service providers. His case management background is primarily in large, complex litigations.  Dean has deep experience managing the discovery phases of antitrust, securities, employment and intellectual property matters.

With a hands-on case management background from Pillsbury Winthrop, Dean moved on to lead a group of paraprofessionals and contract attorneys in Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s Silicon Valley office. Here, he oversaw the electronic discovery aspects of large cases. Consulting strategically with Orrick partners, he assembled internal discovery resources and engaged vendors, structuring and managing large teams and outsourcing functions where appropriate to save clients money. Dean took these skills to the next level as a firmwide administrator with O'Melveny & Myers, interacting with national vendors to meet the firm’s talent and technology needs for large cases.

Most recently, Dean was VP of Business Development for Loxodrome, a dual-shore legal services provider. In this role, he developed and managed key client and strategic partner relationships to provide and oversee outsourced document review, coding and deposition summary services to in-house legal departments, law firms and e-discovery/litigation support firms.

Throughout his career, Dean’s passion has been to develop, implement and manage efficient solutions for his clients, always with an eye on delivering first-rate work while surpassing business goals. A strong leader with a commitment to teambuilding, he brings excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to his work, along with an unrivaled client service ethic.

Dean holds a double B.A. from Stanford University, where he graduated with distinction and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Dean lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.  In his spare time, he can be found either attending to the needs of the spoiled dogs and fussy cat who share his place of residence; or traveling in wine country.
